Our Staff at Merry Manor School of Childhood

The staff at Merry Manor School of Childhood are members of a team and work together to give you and your child the best care possible. Whether supervising free play, working with a child who is creating an art masterpiece, or building verbal skills, we provide a high standard of care. We maintain a quality staff-to-child ratio which means your child will have plenty of individual attention.

Administrator: Miss Tina

Ms. Tina has one of the most important jobs here at the center. She is our Administrator! She went to Lincoln Northeast High School and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She has been working at Merry Manor since 1990 and has been our Administrator since 2002! Ms. Tina has a son who also works at the center, Mr. Derrick, a very special grandson, Damarion, and two dogs, Oliver and Asher. When she is not at the daycare, she spends her time listening to music, square dancing, and doing crafts! Ms. Tina is very hardworking, selfless, and she is like a second mother to everyone she meets. We love you, Ms. Tina!!!!

Director: Miss Erin

Ms. Erin has been working at Merry Manor since 2005 and has been the director another important role here at Merry manor since February of 2020! Also she has been working with kids for 20 years! She graduated from Lincoln High back in 1995! Miss Erin is also our director here at Merry Manor! Her hobbies include going shopping and chasing storms, if she was not working at Merry Manor, she would be a storm chaser, or a meteorologist. An interesting fact about Erin, is that she can play the Alto Saxophone, and she also has a 1-year-old grandson that also goes to the daycare here! Her favorite memory at Merry Manor is the 60th anniversary party they put on when Merry Manor celebrated 60 years!


Assistant Director/ Cheetah Teacher: Mr. Derrick

Mr. Derrick has been working at Merry Manor for almost 11 years and was just recently promoted to Assistant Director in December of 2022. Mr. Derrick graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School in 2015, and then graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2019! He has just now started school back up and is working toward a teaching certificate from Nebraska Wesleyan as well. His hobbies include playing softball,

football, reading, he also is a volunteer football coach at Lincoln Northeast, and lastly playing any sports with his 4-year-old son Damarion, who also attends Merry Manor! If he was not working at Merry Manor, he would be teaching in a classroom hopefully at Lincoln northeast and be coaching. An interesting fact about Mr. Derrick is he can play the violin and he also attended Merry manor where he was a 2002 graduate! His favorite memory at Merry Manor, is when he has former students hug him and say they miss him when they see him outside of the daycare!


Preschool Teacher: Miss Lily

Miss Lily is also an assistant preschool teacher and she works mainly a couple hours in the mornings for us. Miss. Lily is currently attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and plans on graduating in May of 2026 with a degree in accounting. Miss. Lily’s hobbies include playing tennis and also, she loves to paint. If she was not working here at Merry Manor, she says you can find her with her friends and her family. A very interesting fact about Miss. Lily is she is a triplet!! Actually, her sister also used to work here as well. Miss Lily’s favorite memory since she began working here is the funny stories the kids randomly tell you throughout the day! We are very blessed to have Miss. Lily!!

Preschool/School Age Teacher: Miss Julia

Miss. Julia! Miss. Julia has been with us for almost an entire year!! She works with our school agers mostly, but also loves enjoying her time with the preschoolers! Miss. Julia will be graduating from UNL here soon in May of 2024!!! Miss. Julia's hobbies include: reading and a little crocheting! If she was not working at Merry Manor, she would be working at Hiro 88, which she does anyways! A very interesting fact about Miss. Julia is she can speak Japanese and a little bit of Arabic, and she also just got back from an internship in Japan! Her favorite memory since working at Merry Manor, is when she comes in every morning and every kid has to run and say hi to her. We are very glad to have Miss. Julia on board here at Merry Manor! She brings a light to the kids every single day!

Infant Teacher: Miss Krista

Miss Krista is our infant teacher. She graduated high school in 1981 and started working at the daycare in 2016! When Miss Krista isn’t teaching, she is bowling, shooting pool, and playing spades & dominoes! Krista has 2 brothers, 6 sisters, 20 nieces and nephews, and 22 great-nieces and nephews!!! She LOVES having a big family! A fun fact about Krista is that she has the most fun when she goes out dancing and playing the slot machines! All our kiddos love Miss Krista because of her positive attitude, her creative mind, and her love for singing and dancing!

Toddler Teacher: Mr. Victor

Mr. Victor is fairly new and has just started working here only a month and a half ago. He is now the new lead toddler teacher, he is a high school graduate from Boystown and graduated in 2016. His hobby is he love to do some woodworking. If he was not here at Merry Manor, he would love to be teaching another place as well. A fun fact about Mr. Victor is he also used to attend Merry Manor with Mr. Derrick as well!! Was a graduate from Merry Manor in 2003! His favorite memory since he started working here is being with my best friend DC (Mr. Derrick). We are delighted to have Mr. Victor in our facility and he does an excellent job taking care of our toddlers every single day!!

Infant/Infant 2 Teacher: Miss Rochelle

Miss Rochelle! Rochelle works in the Infant 2 room, she also helps out wherever she’s needed. She graduated from Norris High School in 2017 and started working at Merry Manor in December 2020! When she is not at the center, she is either reading or doing “typical mom stuff.” She has the cutest daughter named Peyton and a kitty named Franco. A fun fact about Miss Rochelle is that she used to be a volunteer firefighter, and she used to shoot trap in high school! If she wasn’t working at the center, she would love to be a stay-at-home mom or go back to school to get a paramedic degree! Miss Rochelle always goes above and beyond for the daycare, and she is a great team leader! 

Support Staff: Mr. Bryan

Mr. Bryan!! Mr. Bryan came to us just recently at the end of 2023, he learned about the job from Mr. Derrick when he was a practicum student at Lincoln East. Mr. Bryan is currently a junior at East. His hobbies include lifting weights, playing video games, and looking at Cars. If he was not working here at Merry Manor he would love to be working at Genesis, a local gym here in Lincoln! Some interesting facts about Mr. Bryan is he is currently in the future soldier program, he is also in boy scouts, and he is a car guy!! His favorite memory working at Merry Manor, is he teaches our other Brian, about cars! Mr. Bryan is a great addition and we love seeing young working teens come in looking for a job!!

Support Staff: Mr. Matt

Mr. Matt is our very latest staff member to join our wonderful team. He literally came to us about a week ago in March. He graduated from North Platte high school in 2017, attended SCC in Lincoln for a little bit. He has a hobby in photography. If he was not here working at MMSC then he would be at home taking care of his family. An interesting fact about Mr. Matt is he was in the military for 4 years, on active duty for the Army. His favorite memory at Merry Manor so far is he is already getting along with every one of our staff really well, and I would agree with that! We are so blessed to have another great person like Matt on our staff, and can not wait to see how he blossoms!!

Chef: Miss Tami

Miss Tami is our cook! Along with cooking for all the kids, she plans out all the meals and does the grocery shopping for the center! Tami graduated from Norfolk Senior High in 2001 and started working at the daycare in December 2019. Tami’s hobbies include listening to music, going to concerts, garage sale shopping, baking, and playing sudoku! Tami has two handsome boys, Isiah and Graison! She loves being a boy momma. A fun fact about Tami, she was named after the movie, Tammy and the Bachelor, starring Debbie Reynolds (otherwise her name would be JoLinda). If Tami wasn’t working at the daycare, she would love to own a record store or be a graphic designer. Even though Tami works in the kitchen, she is amazing with all the kids and she’s the reason the kiddos have full and happy tummies!
